Road bike gear is pretty bright and it still doesn't guarantee you won't get run off by some guy in a huge truck who thinks he owns the road. Bike mirrors help you see what's/who's coming up behind you. Is it a car with racks on it or a truck that barely fits on the road? You can better prepare for the inevitable if you have to. Blackburn Multi Mirror

Unlike other handlebar-mounted mirrors, the Multi-Mirror fits inside your handlebar, so there's nothing under your hand. Simply pull out the bar end plug of your handle bar and insert the Multi-Mirror with the correct shim to make a semi-snug fit, then twist the expansion nut until it feels solid. Your handlebars need to have an inner diameter of at least 20 mm in order for the Multi-Mirror to fit.
